What's Indian Style? :-)

This is the response I got when I asked Miss Emma to sit down 'Indian style'~ LOL.

Please bear with me being SO far being on blog posts. I had 8 sessions in 9 days and my sister in law went into labor 15 days early! So exciting AND BUSY at the same time! Never to complain about taking pictures,I just hate to be behind. I promise to catch up this week. I only have 2 sessions this week- both newborns.

Alan, 5, was so fun to photograph again this year. He is all boy- wanting to run around and explore and catch bugs- spiders in particular. He caught a Grandaddy Longleg (no, not me-ha) spider and his Momma even let him keep it and take him home with them. They have such a special bond. I guess the saying is true..."Mom's and their sons" and "Daddy's and their little girls". I really love being a Mom to a son too. Stay tuned for more and thanks so much for your patience Michelle!!!!

In search of Habitat at HighBanks.....

Miss Sophia LOVES her insects! Don't let the pretty dress and those gorgeous sparkling eyes fool you, she wanted to go all over the park in search of ants and bumblebees, and not look at the flowers! It was very cute, being I am a Mom of a boy- I know all about the insects. She told me her favorite was the horned something toad.....such a big word for a 3 year old, and I don't even know it! I have MANY more images to go through, but I wanted to post some I have worked on. Stay tuned for more...... red light, green light game.......

Mark the 'Twitcher' at HighBanks

'Twitcher' means one who travels a long distance to see a rare bird. Well, for Mark traveling 8 miles is a long way ;-) An observer would have thought Mark waited his whole 19 months of life to watch these birds outside- he LOVED it!!!! It was soooo funny watching him use the binoculars which he just learned to do on his own observing the other 'twitchers'. There were some serious bird watchers there. We talked to a lady that just moved back here from Georgia and she was on the lookout for some rare bird so she could get that off her 'twitcher' list. Wow- I had no clue birdwatching was so intense. I guess one could judge my love of photography is on the borderline of obsessive (wink, wink)... so to each their own!!!

Back to Mark, he would hug the glass to hug the birds- too precious! These pictures were taken last week when we were out and about. I have some pictures from this week with snow that I will be posting later. I hope everyone is enjoying the week!

Really serious now...... Ummmmm........so cute! Turning around to make sure we KNEW he was watching the birds...... Using my 'vintage color fade' with texture.... These were all taken inside at HighBanks- a new concept for me and something I plan to work on all Winter to improve (indoor shots with no flash).... I did not use my flash and shot in manual mode adjusting my ISO.......It is harder (for me) to judge indoor ISO, shutter speed etc...than outdoor...so I will have lots of practice this Winter to improve.........Hands Down- natural lighting is best for photographs~hint, why I only shoot outdoors with occassional indoor sessions. :-)

Daddy, Mark and me had such a nice day. Mark and Daddy had haircut's (Mark's-long overdue) at Daddy's barber, then we went to Highbanks Park right down the street to let Mark run around. It is a 'heatwave' up here at 50 degrees and sunny~ after being in the 30's we were like....time to go outside...... yea!!!!! He had so much fun looking at birds, dogs and waving to all the people. He was quite a hit out and about today. Everyone said that he was so darling in his hat and a handsome little boy!!! After looking at the pictures I took, I have to agree that he is one cute kid!!!! I was also happy to see other photographers out and about today snapping away~ makes me feel 'normal'...wink, wink! I was actually taking pictures to put on our Christmas cards, and now my problem is picking just ONE!!!! We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for many things in my life, but most of all my family!!!!! I will be adding as I go, so be sure to check back for more later! :-)
